Strawberries :D

When I got home from school today I found a punnet of REALLY tasty juicy strawberries sitting in the kitchen! What a nice surprise! And they matched my outfit :) hehe.

My birthday party on Saturday was great - we had a big bonfire, a bit of music and lots of Cadburys chocolate fingers to take us back to our childhood birthday party days! The only problem is, everything I was wearing now smells extremely smokey. It took 2 washes to get the smell out of my hair :o.

Today I wore this tunic dress, from Topshop via eBay, and a nice maroon charity shop cardigan. I thought this patent belt would toughen the dress up a bit, and make a change from my usual brown leather belt! Talking of staple wardrobe items, these shoes are quickly becoming the base for all of my outfits. I like wearing heels and being tall :).

Yum:

I suppose I'd best get back to reading these university prospectuses! There's a pile of them thats about a foot high in my kitchen...

Birthday Coat

Today I went shopping with my friend to spend the New Look voucher she gave me for my birthday! It was quite a difficult decision, because there were so many things I wanted to get, including this blazer (but in grey) and this coat. Eventually I made my mind up and bought this beautiful trench/mac. Fingers crossed it will be warm enough in the winter, because it's quite thin!

I can imagine it working well with lots of outfits :D.

This was the only orange leaf left on the branch! I thought it was cute :)

Thankyou for all of your happy birthdays! I had a brilliant day, and received an amazing camera from my parents - tadaa! I'm having fun playing around with all of the settings :D.

I'm having a joint birthday party tomorrow, can't wait!

Autumn Pinafore

It has been a very busy, weird week for me. I broke up with my boyfriend on Friday, which was a bit of a sad event, especially after a year of going out. But I suppose if things aren't working, then things aren't working and so maybe it was the best thing to do. Aside from that, I've been off around the country looking at universities and trying to make up my mind where to go... its such an impossibly difficult decision :(.

Anyway, on Sunday I went to another car-boot (trying to get as many in as possible before its the end of 'car-boot season'). And I found this beaut dangling on the end of a clothes rail - a lovely tweed pinafore. It kindof reminds me of autumn, but I don't know why! I was shopping with my friend who jumped in when I was paying and bought it for me for my birthday :D.

It needed a bit of shortening, but here is the finished result:

It's my 18th birthday tomorrow! I'm kindof excited, but at the same time I don't want to turn 18 - it's like the end of childhood!

50p Dress

It seems as though there's mini hurricane going on outside so I thought I'd have a look for a new indoor photo location ready for the winter! (Didn't fancy balancing my mums camera on a spindley tripod that was swaying from side to side). So I found... my stairs! Haha. They were surprisingly well lit.

Anyway, I thought I'd show you the new dress that I bought at the sunday carboot for 50p :D. I completely love it, mainly because of the lace bit at the top. Admittedly, it's a bit short to be worn as a dress, so I had to wear shorts underneath for school. I think it'll look great tucked into skirts as well!

It's horrible waking up when its still gloomy outside :(. And bad weather = no carboots! But despite this, I have to say, autumn is definitely my favourite season. Can't wait to wear my coat out!

Miniature Vintage Fashion

Whilst searching eBay for vintage clothes this morning I came across a beautiful orange 60's dress. Excitedly, I clicked on it, only to find that it was a miniature item of clothing for a Skipper doll! And I think I have found a new love.

The Skipper doll was introduced in 1964 as Barbie's younger sister. I much prefer her more realistic face and proportions to those of Barbie doll. Not only that, but her clothes seem to be 10x cuter! Just look at those little minidresses - I know I'd love one in my wardrobe!

I had a bit more of a search and found even more gorgeous miniature vintage clothes that I thought I'd share with you...

The unfortunate thing is that most of the outfits sell for well over £30 - a bit more than my budget would allow! But if I was to invest in anything then it would definitely be Skipper fashion.
I was also amazed to find mini sewing patterns for Skipper clothes. I wouldn't mind having a go at making some out of some of my spare material!

(I know it has been a long post but I couldn't resist adding this advert)

P.S. Thankyou so so much for all of your advice for cameras. This is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make! I would love to be able to experiment with manual settings, but I think a DSLR might be too bulky for me. So I'm probably going to go for a normal Canon digital camera (maybe a G9/G10, or a PowerShot SX200 IS). Although I'm quite attracted to the Sony Cyber-shot H50... oh no, decisions decisions!

Roses

This is my favourite skirt at the moment! It seems to go with just about anything, which is very handy when I'm in a rush to get dressed for school. Today I wore it with this rose print top which I bought on eBay (I'm becoming increasingly addicted to eBay - you know it has got to a worrying stage when you regularly meet your 'watched items' limit...).

I WAS going to give the t-shirt my 'cutting a new neckline' treatment but I have decided that I like it the way it is.

T-shirt - H&M (ebay)
Skirt - Topshop (ebay)
Cardigan - H&M
Belt - Vintage
Shoes - Hush Puppies

Anyway, I desperately need some help and advice from all of you knowledgable photographers. My 18th birthday is coming up, and my parents have kindly offered to buy me my own camera! But I don't have a clue what to buy. I was thinking of going down the Digital SLR route, or the bridge camera route, but then I thought that perhaps they'd be too bulky to carry around - and normal pocket sized digital cameras are pretty good nowadays. My budget is about £300 at maximum. Are DSLRs worth the extra weight and cost?
Heeelp!

To Be Adored

I was walking around the boutique section of Urban Outfitters the other day when I came across this beauty! I immediately fell in love with its cute collar & little black buttons, and of course its air of 1960s chic! It was from TBA or ‘To Be Adored’, a brand I hadn’t heard of before. When I got home I looked them up and found even more gorgeous clothes to fall in love with!

Unfortunately they’re a bit too expensive for a poor student like me, but at least they’re something nice to lust over.

Here are some more pictures from their A/W collection...

How cool do those white tights look?

You can buy TBA at Urban Outfitters or ASOS, or go to their website to see the whole collection!

P.S. Florence and the Machine were brilliant on Friday! Definitely go and see them if you get the opportunity, you won't be disappointed.

Lace

Just a quick post really, because I'm about to leave to go and see Florence and the Machine and Dizzee Rascal in a field somewhere! (that explains the wellies). I thought it would be the ideal opportunity to wear this lace top, which you may recognise from a previous post.

And these are my beautiful new jeans that I bought when I was in London! They're the most comfy jeans in the world. ♥

Lace top - Charity shop
Jeans - Topshop
Wellies - Camping shop!

Ooh and an update on my driving - I passed my test! Hooray! I love my new found freedom :D
